MY LIFE’S STORY, LITERALLY

My ADHD brain grew up needing a lot of things to do. In elementary school, I was often caught decorating the margins of my notebook with different illustrations. I’ve always had a lot of energy and a desire to make the people around me laugh; I was voted the class clown in my sixth grade yearbook.

I also channeled that energy into athletics. For over ten years, I woke up at 5 am every weekend to go skiing. As part of those excursions, I’ve broken and fractured ten bones and sprained many more. When I was fourteen, I quit skiing, and it was probably the hardest and best decision I ever made. I took up fencing, and I loved it. Along the way, I became pretty decent.

Currently, I’m a junior at Dartmouth, and I’m involved in activities that I never thought I’d get into. I walked onto the parliamentary debate team my freshman year, and although I sucked at first, I got a lot better.
